Why Do We Have To Work? The Psychology of Work

Why Do We Have To Work? The Psychology of Work

Why do we have to work? Why should I even work at all? What is the importance of work? Do we have to work on a Job?

These are some of the questions, with millions of views I saw on Quora. By the time you read this post to the end, you would be ready, fired, and eager to work. That I can promise you.

The World May Just Depend On You

I will be answering the question; Why do we have to work with a simple analogy below.

Assume you are a Doctor/researcher. And while conducting research one day, an idea came to mind. As you tinker with this idea, you suddenly realize that in your hand lies the solution to HIV and AIDS.

You went to work on this idea, mixed your chemicals, and Bam!

There lies the solution to the world’s most dreaded disease. But, you just have to work on refining the formula so it can be produced on a larger scale.

You look at the amount of work involved; The scorn & unbelief from people and you simply shrink away from completing the process.

Why Should I Work?: A Solution In Your Hands

why do we have to work

Yes, in your hand lies the solution to the world’s greatest pain, but the messenger has become a messenger of doom. A messenger of fear, sluggishness, and procrastination.

The Universe is counting on you, the whole world is waiting, but you, you hate work. You refuse to allow the process by which the solution we all crave surfaces.

You are not only slothful, you are wicked!

Work is An Expression Of Purpose

SO, WHY DO WE WORK?

Why do you have to wake up early daily to leave the comfort of your bed, jump traffic and get to work?

Is it because of money, success, job security, fear of your boss, or because you have found a place to express and execute your purpose?

The funny thing is, those who have found a reason beyond paycheck and money to work, end up having both the fulfillment and satisfaction gotten from both impact and wealth.

Dear executive, entrepreneur, or staff of a company- why do you work?

To pay the school fee and have shelter? pay medical bills and live an exotic lifestyle?

Do we work to meet demand and fulfill someone else need?

Yes, why do you work?

Someone’s life may depend on your work, your solution. The value you bring to the table, your smile, or your charisma. This is why we work.

Let’s Go Practical

why we should work

What is your answer to the question? Why do you work?

-For individuals or entrepreneurs reading this, kindly write out the problem you are solving and for who.

-For Executives or Employees of Organizations; Write out your company’s vision and mission statement. What problem is your organization solving? Do you see your part in delivering the solution your organization is set out to create?

Work is an expression of the god in us, a means to bring healing, light, and solution to our generation. So, stop complaining and get to work!

But just before you go. Because I don’t want to leave your personal need behind, I had like you to answer this question;

What do you want to experience out of life before you kick the bucket?

Great!

Conclusions

Now, that you have found an answer to the question; of why we have to work, I am sure waking up or procrastinating would become a thing of the past.

You have been able to define the value or solution you wish to bring to humanity or you are already bringing, plus you know your biggest goal or ‘egoistic need’.

With these two drivers of destiny know…Thank God it’s Monday!
