An Aha Moment That Changed My Life
The year was 2019 November.
Married with two little kids-that kept me busy all day, I had no Job or sustainable source of income, and one thing was certain in my life- I was very unhappy with my life and relationship (Marriage).
I never went in search of ‘how to change your life for the better’ tutorials on the internet because, for me, there was no need for that search.
I thought the pain and frustration in my life were caused by the people around me.
However, one fateful day, I went into my bathroom to have my bath and suddenly I had an ‘aha moment.
“What if I was the Problem”.
Now, for the first time, It occurred to me, that ‘I might actually be the problem’! Maybe I needed to change myself.
How To Change Your Life for The Better: A Different Mindset
What? Me, the problem?
The fact that I could be the problem was difficult for me to admit at first.
However, thankfully, I was sincere with myself. ‘What if, I was the problem after all and not my husband or the people around me? I wondered silently.
I Kneeled on my bathroom floor and in all humility, asked God to help me change.
It was a simple but genuine prayer from my heart. Because, for the first time, I felt I might hold the key to my happiness.
The realization that; I needed to change my life-not the people around me was the beginning of my transformation.
Hence, I moved from self-pity and self-pride to recognizing my faults and need for better me-for self-improvement.
I Fell in Love With My Future Self (I saw my reward)
Right in my bathroom, I saw the person I wanted to become. Here was the picture: My better self would be a gentle, loving, caring, patient, people-centered individual. One whose kids loved and respected.
Not the easily angered, forceful, and impatient mother and wife I was. I never knew this was how to change my life for the better.
What followed next were a series of events, I believe the Universe arranged in my favor- to help me change and experience the joy of living.
