How To Change Your Life for The Better(Part2)-Becoming A New You

This is the continuation of my ‘how to change your life for the better’ series. In part 1 I started with my story of transformation.

So, if you haven’t gone through part 1, kindly go check it out first here.

How To Change Your Life for The Better: Recap of Part 1

In part 1 of this series; how to change your life for the better- I stated earlier that my transformation began with a mindset shift.

I realized I was responsible for my happiness and that there was room for self-improvement.

It dawned on me that I wasn’t all as perfect as I thought. The exact thing that kick-started my journey was this sudden realization that I wasn’t as good as I thought.

Secondly, I envisioned and fell in love with a better version of myself;

A calmer me, patient, slow to anger, peaceful, and gentle me-was a much more likable picture I saw, and I desired it instantly.

The Events that Led To A Better Version of Me

By now, I am sure you are already discovering how to change your life for the better from my story.

However, in this guide, I will continue with the events that followed in my life- and how I became happier, less stressed, and a better individual.

I Read This Dr. Joe Dispensa’s Book: You Are The Placebo

How to change your life for the better

My journey to personal transformation will blow your mind, but most importantly, you will discover how to change your life for the better.

It happened that a few days after my ‘bathroom experience’ and my mind shift, I had a dream. And in that dream, I was learning about the Mind, Spirit, Soul, and body connection.

It was as if I was being downloaded with certain mysteries I had not unraveled in the past-and only my quest for personal change was the key to that lock.

I also remembered a friend of mine had published a book titled ‘marketing is Spiritual’. I reached out to him requesting a copy of his book -which he eventually sent to me.

He also sent me soft copies of Dr. Joe Dispensa’s book; Mind Over Matter and Vishen’s book- Code of the Extraordinary Mind.

That was how I began my journey to personal transformation.

How To Change Your Life for The better: I Discovered Meditation.

Having a Meditation Practice will help change your life for the better just like it transformed mine. I have often heard of meditation, but I never practiced it.

However, my life took a new level when I came across Wesley Virgin’s ad on Facebook one fateful day. I clicked on the link and got his free sound wave and meditation. It blew my mind.

Then I followed up with his YouTube links and began to consume his videos.

His content and teachings blew my mind. In one of his videos and he mentioned Dr. Joe Disopensa being his coach and mentor. Hearing that helped to solidify my belief in what he was teaching- on manifesting wealth and greatness.

A Little More About Meditation & How It Changed My Life

I will take a little time to explain how to change your life for the better-using meditation.

One of the videos I watched from Wesley virgin’s channel talked about gratitude meditation.

He taught about his meditation practice below:

I included these videos because I want to show you how to change your life for the better. These were the steps I took to radically transform my life.

You should begin a meditation practice if you haven’t. It will change your life for good.

Having a Meditation practice helped me focus more on getting better inwards. Setting aside time to meditate, helped me channel my thoughts and mental energy positively.

I stopped focusing on how other people were treating me and began to focus on maintaining positive emotions at all times.

For example, I was watching a video one day, and I heard a guy talk about monitoring your thoughts throughout the day (and not only during meditation)-this helped me become more conscious of my thought pattern throughout the day.

The idea is to pick up negative or angry thoughts and change them to positive thoughts as soon as you notice them in your mind.

How I Began To Change My Behavior: Anger.

I struggled with anger but was never conscious of it. I could get angry easily, and react to situations without considering other people’s feelings.

Let’s say, I was self-centered.

I became conscious of my weakness and was determined to change. During my meditation- the first thing I do when I wake up, and the last thing I do before I drop off to sleep- I practiced proactiveness.

I would come up with triggers (things that could get me angry)-Then, I would come up with responses (the best way to respond) without getting angry ahead of time.

I wanted to center my behavior to reflect love and happiness. so, I came up with ideas about love.

These Mantras Changed my life, I Redefined love as;

how to change your life for the better

Patience-‘Love is the Strength to be quiet even when I am right’. Love is power. I am constrained by love. Love allows me to be still and not fight-even in the most difficult situations.

Kindness-‘The ability to forgive and do good even when the other person does not deserve it’

Forgiveness- “The ability to let go, because at best we are all human. We all have the potential to default.

Gentleness-‘I choose not to fight or be the judge even when I have been wronged or offended’

How To Change Your Life for The better: I fell In Love With myself

how to change your life for the better

This was how I gradually, began to change my life for the better. I believe this is how to change your life for the better in no time at all.

Within one year, I shifted from an angry unforgiving human to a grateful, loving, and self-controlled woman.

My Meditation Practice Goes as Follows:

Step 1: Gratitude.

I begin by remembering things I am grateful for (for the day). Initially, I would reflect on my past victories and successes. And then, shift to little things that made my day.

This, (I can guarantee), is how to change your life for the better. I shifted from seeing only the negatives in my life, to recognizing the beautiful things in my life. I became grateful for everything, and my life began to glow.

Step 2: Behavior Change Therapy.

The next step in my meditation was coming up with responses I would give in situations that triggered anger or negative reactions. I would rehearse my response to certain behavior ahead of time.

‘What I would do when my husband (for example) do (insert a behavior) or say certain things that originally would have resulted to my negative outburst or reactions’?

By applying the above technique known in behavioral therapy for behavioral transformation and stress management. I learned and began to respond to stress, anger, and issues from other people around me without outbursts or negative emotions

This resulted in a slight but noticeable change in my behavior. I learned how to control myself and emotions- through practice- by picturing situations and the outcomes (and how I would want events to happen)- ahead of time.

By doing this constantly, I became conscious of my actions, thoughts, and reactions. But most importantly, I began to hold myself accountable for my actions, words, and in-actions.

Hence, I became conscious. Take my word for it-This is how to change your life for the better without stress or effort.

Step 3: I Practiced Visualization Gratitude

In this how-to-change your life for a better guide, I aim to explain the simple practices that changed my life for good. I do hope you take action.

The next step of my meditation practice was to give thanks as though my prayers or needs were already answered or met.

I would picture myself in places I would love to be, and whatever challenge at hand at the moment, I would picture the solution in my mind’s eyes and give thanks to God as though it’s already resolved.

This is transformational.

I learned to surrender and trust in the universe-even when things are yet to take shape as thought. Hence I became more at peace within and without.

Step4: Replaced My Social Media Times (Facebook) With YouTube Learning

I took advantage of this free platform called YouTube and made it my classroom.

I would watch Dr. Joe Dispensa, Ted talks, Mindvalley channel, and Wesley virgin to mention but a few.

My life began to change for the better. I learned how to improve my memory so I don’t get to forget the actions I would take in situations I already rehearsed.

The Results? Self Love & Confidence Exuded

change my life for the better

When you suddenly realize how powerful and important you are, you have more respect for yourself. This happened when I discovered a different self-image than I have often held for myself.

I saw myself as a universal spiritual being; ‘God’s child’ as said by Oprah Winfrey.

For days I meditated on what it meant to be God’s child: the revelation was mind-blowing. I completely fell in love with myself and judged myself as a powerful spiritual being-not one to be pitied but one who could change her situations using the power of my mind and words.

Hence, by re-aligning myself to my original self, I became comfortable with myself-I and loved myself more.

More so, I came across this word in one of the books I read; “Nobody has the permission to love you more than you love yourself! Think about that in a minute.

Final Thoughts On How To Change Your Life For The Better

When I changed-became a better person, learned to control or master my emotions, and became conscious of my self; actions, thoughts, and words-my life changed for the better.

I believe this is how to change your life for the better.
