Wondering how to be cool? Don’t feel like you fit into the ‘cligue’ and want to learn how to build your self-confidence?
Ever seen a purposeful, self-confident, focused, kind, warm-hearted person before?
That is cool.
Fashion bloggers or industries would tell you to put on different shades of glasses and wear nice clothes to look cool, but hey, would you rather look cool on the outside and feel worthless on the inside?
In this post, I will be sharing the secrets of self-confident people and how to be cool no matter what you have, where, or who you are.
How To Be Cool: Self Validity (Stop Trying to Fit in)
This is how to be cool: Stop trying hard to be liked, noticed, or approved by others. In other words, develop and I- don’t- give- a- fuck attitude -especially when you are doing the right thing.
Everyone wants to be liked, accepted, or approved by others. But the tough kids in the block unconsciously or consciously know that seeking the approval of all isn’t cool. They aren’t afraid of being different or rejected. Hence, they don’t seek the validity of others.
Self-validity is boldness. To be fearless of what others might say is uncommon. And uncommon is cool.
Do The Right Thing-Even When Everyone Is Doing The Wrong Thing.
The second secret on how to be cool is-Make it a brand in your life to consciously stick to your beliefs or stick with the right conduct.
It makes you different. When everyone smokes and you don’t, boldly state that you don’t smoke and be unapologetic about it. They will secretly admire your boldness and indifference.
It takes courage and fearlessness to stand out-Courage is cool.
How To Be Cool: Love Yourself More Than Others Love You
This is how to be cool: Love yourself more than anyone else can love you. I know this sounds strange but listen-nobody has the permission to love you more than you love yourself!
If you seek the love and friendship of others desperately, it’s a symptom of a lack of self-love. When you love yourself above all else, you permit others to love you. This helps you stick to doing the right thing regardless.
To love yourself more, you may have to change your behavior.
Change Your Behavior-Become A Better You
Changing your behavior to become cooler and calmer; being more loving and kind is definitely how to be cool.
When I realized how my behavior (actions in life) caused me pain, I knew it was time to make adjustments. I decided to adjust and become someone better for myself because my attitudes were hurting me.
Action Point: make a list of the things you do not like about yourself and come up with how to become better.
For example, I saw a need to be punctual at events. As I improved and became more punctual, I began to feel good about myself and fall more in love with myself.
How To Be Cool: Get A Mission
Cool people have a mission they are willing to lay their lives for. So, if you are searching for how to be cool, here is my advice- find a problem, and be willing to go all out to solve it.
It could be anything you feel uncomfortable happening around you deciding to bring the change you wish to see.
For me, I realized that one of the things that limit human potential and happiness is our behaviors and attitude in life, so when I became better behaved, I began to enjoy peace, self-love, and respect for others, so I decided to start educating people about it via my block.
This made me feel cool and I know this is how to be cool.
Build Competence-Preparation & Planning Skills
One of the ways to be cool is to form the habit of self-improvement. When you are good at something, you get noticed. This is not approval seeking, it is a law of nature.
So, what are you good at? Anything? If nothing, get to work. If you are a student, you can improve your academics one subject at a time by dedicating just a little more time to learning.
Conclusion
Here is my conclusion on how to be cool: You own yourself the definition of coolness. You can’t be cool fitting in or being fearful. You have to believe in yourself for others to see your coolness.
Sometimes people try hard to be cool because they want the validation of others, but the reality is, if we are focused on being better, others will praise us even without us asking for their validation.
So, what do you say; what’s one thing you could improve in your life to bring out your coolness?
